Religious Studies Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start A diverse and inclusive secondary school in the vibrant borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Religious Studies (RS) Teacher to join their successful Humanities department.
This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and the school's RE syllabus, fostering students' understanding of religious beliefs, practices, and ethical issues.
Creating a respectful and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, open dialogue, and critical thinking about religion and its impact on individuals and societies.
Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and perspectives.
Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including sacred texts, philosophical debates, and contemporary issues, to enhance students' understanding of different religions and worldviews.
Collaborating with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to promoting tolerance and understanding.
The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Religious Studies curriculum.
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for religious studies.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects the diversity of beliefs and backgrounds.
