Our client is the City Council team and are seeking a Museum Operations Manager to join their team on a temporary basis. As the Museum Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the museum as a whole, including its buildings, infrastructure, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and maintain health and safety policies to ensure the security and safety of staff, visitors, and guests.
2. Oversee the specialised maintenance and service works required for the museum's fabric, infrastructure, and condition.
3. Collaborate with the curatorial team to meet the standards of collection management.
4. Conduct risk assessments within the museum, including buildings, equipment, and events.
5. Manage the Operations Team, including overseeing rota management to meet operational needs.
6. Act as a key holder for the venue, being available at short notice for any security or building-related issues.
7. Work with existing staff on retail management to ensure an appealing offer to the audience.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience delivering a first-class visitor experience.
2. Familiarity with health and safety policies and procedures.
3. Good understanding of building maintenance legislation requirements, such as legionella, COSHH, etc.
4. Ability to use Microsoft Packages, Office 365, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
5. Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
6. First aid and fire marshal training and experience are preferred.
