Prototype Development Designer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly creative and innovative Development Designer to join our client.
You will be responsible for drawing up designs, and working with metal work, wood work and acrylic fabrications.
you will also have an understanding and use of CNC’s.
As a Creative Development Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing unique and visually appealing concepts for a wide range of projects (Fixtures and Display units). This role requires exceptional artistic skills, a strong understanding of design principles, and the ability to think outside the box.
Responsibilities:
* Working with metalwork and acrylic fabrication both from a design and a practical angle.
* Knowledge of general construction.
* Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals, requirements, and target audience.
* Conceptualise, design, and develop creative and innovative solutions across various platforms including Concept drawings ideally from a prototyping background
* Create compelling visual designs
* Develop and present design concepts to clients, articulating the creative vision and rationale behind each idea.
* Collaborate with other creatives to ensure cohesive and impactful visual communication.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new design techniques, and software applications to enhance creative development processes.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and deadlines.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Qualifications:
* Relevant Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a creative design role,
* Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
* Concept drawings - Fabrication background - Prototyping background - CNC knowledge
* Point of sale background
* Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate ideas and creative concepts.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* A portfolio showcasing your creative design work and demonstrating a diverse range of projects and styles.
