Job Title: Materials Planner
Wipac Technology Limited is Europe’s leading automotive lighting designer and manufacturer for the luxury and supercar markets. We supply headlamps and rear lamps for many of the world’s most iconic car brands. Wipac has grown significantly in recent years and was sold to a large Chinese corporation Anrui Optoelectronics at the end of 2019. Anrui have a strong desire to invest significantly and continue to grow their share of the European and North American automotive lighting markets. Main purpose:
To ensure customers ever changing requirements are communicated, planned for, and fulfilled through effective planning of manufactured and purchased material.
Key Responsibilities: -
• Provide support for customer logistical matters including schedule queries, shipping confirmation, supply planning and container management.
• Review, input, and audit scheduling parameters in line with production and customer requirements.
• Support the exchange of digital schedules and shipping information with customers as appropriate through the electronic data interface (E.D.I).
• Maintain “best practice” planning and scheduling disciplines within the S.A.P environment.
• Support the achievement of company objectives on stock turnovers operating efficiencies and related targets, e.g., KANBAN.
• Liaise with production to manage the release of production orders and monitor progress against plan.
• Prepare planning performance data as required to support the achievement of Company objectives.
• Support the implementation of product changes, implementation phase of change control to minimise obsolescence and disturbance to manufacturing or supply.
Experience and Qualifications
• Experience in a similar role within Manufacturing sector, preferably automotive.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Mathematics with an excellent level of attention to detail.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office programmes including Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.)
• Previous experience of S.A.P would be desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal and external customers.
• Able to work on own initiative and be able to adapt to new processes and situations
