What we are looking for We are recruiting for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Construction division. As Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing multiple projects, ensuring their successful delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will manage relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, while leading teams to achieve operational excellence. The successful candidate must: Be able to take initiative, manage teams, and drive projects forward. Be able to manage construction projects to a high standard. Possess good people management skills. Have experience at Contract Manager level within civils & groundworks. Have a thorough understanding of Health and Safety Have a strong focus on delivering projects efficiently but safely. Have relevant qualifications (degree or equivalent experience in engineering/construction management). Have strong communication and negotiation skills. Have a full driving license. This is a full time role and will report to the Construction Manager. The position is based at our Brook Farm Depot (Gloucester) and Construction Sites across the South-West and South Wales. The following are the main responsibilities associated with the position: Job Purpose To oversee allocated construction projects in terms of programme, resource management, recording and reporting procedures and liaison with commercial team to ensure the protection of the company. Responsibilities Oversee and manage multiple Groundworks and Civil Engineering projects across the region. Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement effective solutions. Lead and mentor site teams to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards. Uphold health and safety regulations across all sites. Manage and co-ordinate staff, Sub-Contractors, agency labour, material suppliers, Plant and Utility providers to ensure an efficient method of work to the required quality and project schedule. Resource management, HR To ensure that site personnel effective daily use of appropriate company Information Systems and databases. Manage and deliver the Group’s Health and Safety expectations ensuring all Staff and operatives are aware of their responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy Complete the relevant documentation on a weekly/monthly basis. Ensure RAMS/HAV and Tool Box talks are in place and are available and briefed for all tasks. Preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Assist in the recruitment of skilled Supervisors and Operatives At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions. Liaise with clients to ensure the highest possible customer care performance/satisfaction and complete all relevant inspections and documentation. Evaluate and develop project solutions and options.
