Import and Export Coordinator | St Albans | Up to £27,500
We are recruiting for an Import and Export Coordinator to join an established and forward-thinking logistics company in St Albans.
You will be based within modern offices and a vibrant department. This role would suit an individual who is passionate, ambitious and wishes to develop a career in international logistics, while working for a financially strong and stable company.
Our client has a proven record of developing individuals from within and outside the transport and logistics industry, and although experience will be of an advantage, if you are a graduate or have some relevant experience, possess excellent communication skills, and have a desire to progress in a successful but demanding environment, your application will be seriously considered!
What’s in it for you:
1. Salary: Up to £27,500 depending on experience, with regular appraisals to recognise continued development.
2. Hours: Monday to Friday 07.30-16.30 or 08.00-17.30 with once Saturday morning in 6.

4. Dealing with companies globally in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
1. Gain an understanding of the model of customs requirements for UK exports to the EU and EU Imports to the UK.
2. Understand the road transport logistics model for moving freight to and from mainland Europe via Ferries or Eurotunnel.
3. Contact clients by phone/email in the UK and in Europe assisting and answering questions and queries.
4. Email customs pre-advices to UK and EU Customs Agents.
5. Create GMR’s (Goods Movement References) and check the Goods Vehicle Movement System daily, resolving generated queries.
6. Create and submit Safety & Security Declarations.
7. Request T1s, update their status, and update T1 tracker.
8. Audit letters of Direct Representation and Deeds of Indemnity.
9. Assist Operations Team with phone answering and job file production.
10. Assist with training of our driving team in customs processes.
What the employer is looking for:
1. Strong verbal and written commercial skills.
2. Organised with good attention to detail.
3. French or German language would be an advantage, not a necessity.
4. An interest in geography and commerce.
5. An understanding of MS Excel.
6. Numerate and literate.
7. An understanding of customs processes post-Brexit would be a distinct advantage.
8. This may also be a recent graduate who is interested in a career in logistics and international commerce.
