Key Responsibilities:
Laminating and Fabrication: Lay up and laminate composite materials such as carbon fibre, fibreglass, and other advanced materials according to technical drawings and specifications, using both wet-lay and pre-preg methods.
Tooling and Mould Preparation: Prepare moulds and tooling for lamination, ensuring proper preparation, alignment, and accuracy.
Vacuum Bagging and Autoclave Operation: Perform vacuum bagging and operate autoclave machinery for curing composite parts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Quality Control: Inspect finished components to identify any defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from the specifications, and perform necessary repairs or modifications.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate, efficient, and on-time completion of projects.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of work completed and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Job Requirements:
Experience in composite laminating, preferably within the motorsport, aerospace, or automotive industry.
Strong knowledge of composite materials, lay-up techniques (wet-lay, pre-preg, vacuum bagging), and autoclave operation.
Demonstrated ability to work precisely and consistently, with a keen eye for detail and quality control.
Ability to handle composite materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
Relevant certifications in composite laminating or manufacturing processes are a plus.
