The successful applicant will assist in the leadership of the department and the coordination of high-quality care within the clinical environment.
Patient safety and experience is of paramount importance. The band 7 team plays a pivotal role in delivering and monitoring this.
As part of the role, you are expected to lead and manage your own mentor team of staff within the department. This includes appraisals, mandatory training compliance, and ensuring a positive staff experience.

You will be expected to develop your scope of practice within local Trust guidelines and policies. You will demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to care delivery and service improvement in order to work in this highly desirable area with a proactive multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
Within this role, the post holder will be expected to assess patients, devise care plans, and implement care. Provide advice and guidance to the multidisciplinary team and ensure all records and documentation are completed and relevant. The role involves managing staff, rotas, appraisals, recruitment and selection, resource control, and budgetary management for the area. This role involves overall 24-hour responsibility for the Ward/Dept./Unit and therefore will require enhanced communication skills to deal with the broad range of issues involved in the day-to-day management of the ward/dept/unit.
