Job Description:
We are looking for a professional Medical Support Secretary to join our friendly team at the West of England Specialist Gender Identity Clinic.
The applicant must be experienced and competent in IT and be aware of the need for patient confidentiality. Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage.
We are a friendly team; the office is busy, and the work is interesting and varied.
Our administrators are a vital part of our team. With our clinic being a nation-wide service, we literally couldn't provide high-quality care without them; and that's where you come in. If you have good keyboard, administration, and computer skills along with a good telephone manner and enjoy liaising between team members and services in a busy environment, then this is the opportunity for you.
Main duties of the job
This role is interesting and varied; from generating assessment and follow-up letters, providing support to the medics, organising appointments, uploading patient records, and any ad hoc duties.

Qualifications
* RSA 3 Word Processing or equivalent level of experience in practice
* NVQ3 in administration or equivalent level administrative knowledge and experience
* GCSE English or equivalent
* Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
* ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence).
* Shorthand or Speedwriting
* AMPSPAR or BSMA Certificate in Medical Terminology or equivalent qualification
Experience
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to change when required
* Experience of working as part of a team
* Previous experience of working within an administrative or secretarial team
* Experience of dealing with confidential and complex information
* Ability to take accurate formal and informal minutes
