Job Purpose
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will provide clinical leadership and supervise and lead our team alongside our experienced, established Registered Manager (Nurse-Qualified). You will ensure the delivery of person-centred care that meets the needs of our residents.
Hours of work
This role is not 9-5, and working flexibly to meet the service's needs is required. Some out-of-hours work is essential to maintain management cover and ensure the smooth running of the home. There is also an expectation of being on call on a week-on-week-off basis.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Management
Assist in managing the care home, ensuring it operates in line with CQC standards and other relevant regulations. Act as the Registered Manager in their absence, maintaining seamless continuity of care and service quality. Lead and inspire the clinical team, fostering a culture of respect, compassion, and professional growth.
2. Clinical Oversight
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to staff, ensuring evidence-based care is delivered. Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and medication management to meet residents' needs. Support the team in handling complex cases, offering hands-on support and intervention when needed.
3. Compliance and Quality Assurance
Assist in preparing for CQC inspections and implementing action plans to address any areas for improvement. Ensure that all records, policies, and procedures are maintained accurately and up to date. Participate in audits and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
4. Resident and Family Engagement
Build strong relationships with residents, families, and stakeholders, ensuring their voices are heard and respected. Support residents’ emotional and mental well-being, promoting activities and interventions that enhance their quality of life.
5. Training and Development
Mentor and train staff to enhance their skills, particularly in mental health care and complex conditions. Organise and deliver training sessions to promote best practices and compliance with care standards.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in mental health care, ideally within a care home or similar setting.
* Proven leadership and management experience in a mental healthcare environment.
* Experience of supervision of junior staff
* Expert knowledge of the MCA & MHA
* Sound knowledge of CQC regulations.

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
