We are a specialist law firm with an expert team of solicitors and barristers dedicated to providing excellent client care and a responsive legal service.
Qualifications and Training
* Advanced Paralegal Level 5
* CILEX Qualification incorporating SQE 1 & 2 - Level 6 or Solicitor Apprenticeship Level 7
Responsibilities
1. Support the fee earner in all aspects of case management.
2. Take full liability and quantum statements from clients at the outset of a case.
3. Take statements from clients and witnesses, drafting these as appropriate.
4. Represent clients at hearings, PADs, and ISHs.
5. Undertake progress chasing work as allocated by the fee earner and handle routine post under supervision.
6. Consider limitation from medical records, check completeness, and arrange pagination.
7. Draft letters of instruction to experts.
8. Begin quantification of a claim and gather financial information for the schedule of damages.
9. Attend clients via telephone and in person to provide updates and support, maintaining professional and friendly standards.
10. Negotiate with third parties and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
11. Manage post-issue claims, including instructing, working with barristers, and producing bundles and pre-trial checklists.
12. Complete drafting tasks such as schedules of losses, PAD applications, and other documentation.
13. Assess quantum and attend conferences with Counsel.
14. Ensure confidentiality of all firm and client documentation and information.
15. Be flexible and adaptable to take on new roles within capabilities.
16. Perform any other duties reasonably required.
Training and Work Schedule
Your academic training will be provided by BPP Legal. Off-the-job training is one day per week, taken from home. You will be required to attend mentoring meetings and various sessions throughout the year.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Academic day one day per week for college courses and off-the-job training.
