Hollow Oak Nursing Home is seeking a proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team, providing essential support across our care home.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards. You will perform routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and promptly address any issues to create a safe and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the facility's infrastructure and equipment.
2. Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
4. Maintain accurate maintenance records using digital platforms.
5. Provide exceptional customer service and support to residents and their families.
6. Carry out various areas of maintenance work with confidence.
7. Identify, document, and report maintenance issues and hazards.
8. Ensure full compliance with all legal legislation, including Health & Safety and Fire Safety regulations.
9. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits with corrective action planning.
10. Immediately report issues or failures impacting legal compliance or service levels.
11. Liaise with the Care Home Manager and contractors.
12. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting specified deadlines and maintaining high standards.
13. Meet individual targets while contributing to the team's overall success.
14. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
15. Maintain good communication with team members.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or care home setting.
2. Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance tasks.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
4. Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
7. A compassionate and caring attitude towards residents.
8. A valid driving license is required; ability to drive the care home minibus is a plus.
9. Professional qualifications and previous experience in a care setting are desirable.
