Reason for role: There has been a recent restructuring within the business as part of the business’ future growth plans. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and energetic buyer to join their current supply chain team to provide support and help apply strategic procurement techniques to streamline the procurement process as the business continues to grow. You will be working as part of a team of 5 as the sole buyer, managing an annual expenditure in the region of £8m. Job Specification Day to Day: Providing support to the supply chain manager with any tasks they may need completing Purchasing a range of commodities including PCB, silicon, chips, fasteners, fixing, fabrications, plastics, sensors and screens Analyzing ways to implement strategic processes within supplier management to streamline supply chain Managing inventory levels Carrying out cost saving activities to reduce procurement spend without effecting quality. Setting up supplier agreements Essential Requirements: Experience working with ERP systems Experience setting up supplier agreements in a way that is structured to save costs Desirable experience: Holds or working towards CIPS Qualification Experience purchasing electronic components (PCBs, transistors, resistors, capacitors)
