Bedford Modern School is an HMC Independent Co-educational Day School located on the outskirts of Bedford. Our facilities are excellent and include a separate Junior School, dedicated Sixth Form building, purpose-built Science Centre opened in 2017 and extensive sports facilities.
The School offers a premium education, with a wide and varied curriculum, that is responsive to the needs of students and parents, where the intellectual needs of each student is given priority.
We are looking to appoint a committed and suitably qualified graduate to teach Combined Science to Year 7 and 8, alongside Biology and a further science to GCSE. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, comfortable using the latest technology, have a passion for your subject and an appreciation of the value that comes from being actively involved in departmental trips, events and enrichment activities.
You will have a genuine interest in delivering positive outcomes for young people and be willing to contribute to the extensive co-curricular life of both the Science Faculty and the wider school.
We warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs, offering a supportive, caring programme to those starting their teaching career.
In return, we can offer an excellent working environment, 35 term-time weeks, CPD opportunities through our membership of the Harpur Trust, the option to be part of a private healthcare scheme and generous pension scheme and fee remission (subject to availability and entrance requirements).
We encourage applications from all communities as we want to have a workforce that reflects the social, cultural and ethnic diversity of our students.
