Job Brief
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and fixes. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensuring facilities are tidy and functional. Your goal is to ensure that all the equipment at the property is functioning effectively and to immediately address items that are starting to show signs of weakening in order to ensure the items’ longevity and minimize the cost of reactive maintenance.
All candidates for this role must have the physical strength and stamina to perform the role.
Responsibilities
* Routine maintenance and repair
* Performing inventory
* Assist with set-up of new properties: flat-pack furniture, curtains/blinds, applying wallpaper, hanging wall decor.
* Provide reports for repair work that needs to be done at the property
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are met. Ensuring that fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits remain in excellent working condition at all times.
* Completing safety checks on systems and equipment
* Proactively sharing insights with the Hotel Manager and Operation Executive to improve overall service to guests
* Note repairs that require special technical skills, obtain quotes on scope of work to be carried out and forward to the Hotel Manager and Operation Executive for approval; once approved, schedule the works for commencement and completion and inform the Hotel Manager and Operation Executive of scheduled dates;
* Ground maintenance
* Keeping tools and supplies clean and organized
* Maintain the gardens and outside areas of properties
* And other duties as requested
Requirements and Skills
* Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
* Experience using hand and electrical tools
Expected Outcomes
* To fix all items reported as requiring attention
* To identify and repair any items that are starting to give in
* To provide a quick turn-around for setting up of new properties - collaborate closely with the setup Manager for doing so
* To have gardens look fully tidy and clean at all times
* To ensure paved areas/slabs are weed-free at all times
* To log number of maintenance issues originating from guests - communicate information to Property Manager
* To communicate the numbers of complaints if confronted to the Property Manager
