Job Introduction
This position will support the Area Logistics Manager, Duty Access Managers and Site Teams. The Assistant Logistics Manager will be required to support our Logistics Control Tower to deliver a seamless operation to our construction sites across London.
All Logistics team members will be expected to work as a team providing support, cover and developing best practice.

Role Responsibility
* Ensure and support the team to be seen as an exemplar in logistics management both internally and externally.
* Support the Area Logistics Manager with day-to-day coordination of logistics. Represent the Area Logistics Manager at meetings with the supply chain, local communities and stakeholders, and site teams.
* Attend T-Readiness Reviews, squad meetings, weekly asset forecast meetings and Area planning meetings. Identify and close out Logistics actions.
* Identify, project manage and implement improvements for the Logistics team.
* Become a point of contact for short / medium term logistics operation within the Logistics Operations team.
* Report writing, weekly issues update, excavated materials input, Abnormal loads tracker.
* Become familiar with logistics KPI's and discuss mitigations with Operations / Control Tower teams.
* Ensure Logistics planning and strategy supports site activities.
* Ensure logistics team is working to the suite of Construction Logistics Plans.
* Assist with updating of the suite of logistics procedures.
* Attend logistics interface meetings with adjacent contractors.
* Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
* Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
* Ability to project manage in a structured and organized way.
* Excellent verbal / written communication skills.
* Skillful problem solver, and calm under pressure.
* Experience in delivering excellent customer service and comfortable working with many different stakeholders.
* Experience of working with a Delivery Management System is beneficial.
Desirable:
* Experience in construction and/or site logistics.
* Experience working with suppliers.
* Sound knowledge of Health and Safety.
* Experience of working with FORS/CLOCS.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
