Production supervisor summary
To manage the daily operations in machining cell.
Managing the machines and operators to ensure effective performance to the company’s required production targets.
Reporting on the performance of the shift operations.
Ensure that all company health, safety, environmental and quality standards and procedures are adhered to and targets achieved.
Improve and sustain the housekeeping in the machining cells.
Drive continuous improvement in the people and processes
Deliver company team briefings and toolbox talks.
Key responsibilities of the Production supervisor
1. Responsible for all heath, safety and environmental aspects in the machine shop.
2. First line of discipline for all direct reports
3. To plan and organize the operators and machines to achieve requirements for the shifts.
4. Maintain the work to boards on the machines, ensuring operators are clear on work priorities on their work centres. Ensure all operators have sufficient work throughout their shifts, and machines are loaded at all times
5. To ensure multi manning when possible.
6. To ensure job bookings are current and correct.
7. To ensure that quality, cost and delivery standards are met and are in line with business strategies and policies
8. Manage and report the time management of the operators including shift arrangements, holiday’s, absenteeism, and day to day attendance. Through the T& A system and shift charts etc.
Ideal experience of the Prodcuion supervisor
9. Experience in machine shop environment preferably in a high value low volume with complex parts.
10. Experience in a leadership role.
11. Good computer skill in Microsoft office.
12. SAP experience desirable
13. Good and effective communicator.
14. Flexible approach to working i.e. Shifts and working hours.
Working hours of the Production supervisor
Working 37.5 hours per week, the successful candidate will be offered flexible working hours to suit their circumstances; however the below core working hours must be worked by all employees.
15. Monday to Thursday – 9:30AM to 2:15PM
16. Friday – 9:30AM to 12PM
