An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team of Support Workers at our homes in Bishopstoke, Eastleigh and West End, Southampton. The homes specialise in person-centred care for people with learning difficulties and autism. Applicants might have experience of working in a similar environment, but this is not essential as training will be provided. You will be a great addition to the team if you enjoy working and interacting with people, have the right personality and share the same values as us. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, effective communicators, with high standards of care, and who are sensitive to the needs of people with learning disabilities. The homes are vibrant residential homes that caters for up to five individuals with autism. Our mission is to empower our residents to lead independent, fulfilling, and enjoyable lives. As a member of our dedicated support team, you’ll play a crucial role in achieving this goal. You will support individuals to engage in diverse activities, from accompanying people on shopping trips to enjoying leisure pursuits like bowling, cinema outings, and golf. Your days will always be dynamic and rewarding. During the week, we encourage residents to explore their interests and passions. Whether it’s going for a swim or a visit to family members, you’ll be there to provide guidance and support. At the weekends, we often host or participate in social gatherings for friends and families, we explore car-boot sales, attend local community events, and take time to prepare Sunday’s big roast dinner. Our days are consistently busy, filled with enjoyment, and never dull We welcome individuals with experience or an understanding of supporting people with autism and learning difficulties. However, we are also open to training the right candidates. A valid full UK driver’s license is desired (preferably held for at least one year). You will be a valuable team member if you enjoy working with people, have a compatible personality, and share our values. Working hours are 37 hours per week, on a rotational shift pattern. This will be a varied shift pattern including weekdays and weekends; a flexible approach to work is essential. Part-time may be considered for the right applicant.
