As a Project Manager, you’ll work alongside our external vendor project teams, our NIKE material handling team, and our wider program team to lead the project element of building automation in a brand-new Distribution Centre befitting of one of the most iconic and innovative global brands.
The ambition is clear: build a ground-breaking omni-channel DC encompassing the best innovation, automation, and iconic design. We seek a Project Manager that will help us implement a material handling solution for our UK Distribution Centre (DC) planned to launch in 2027.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Professional qualification in project or program management or equivalent experience.
* You are familiar with all aspects of automation (mechanical, electrical & controls).
* Experience realizing technical projects at scale in a highly automated environment.
* Experience with project management tools to manage scope, timeline, and budget.
* You have a broad technical knowledge, alongside an affinity and curiosity about material handling systems.
* You take personal responsibility for the realization of the project.
* You enjoy teamwork, working with cross-functional teams and in a dynamic environment.
* Problem-solving ability and drive for results.
* You have strong formal and informal communication skills.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As an MHE Project Manager, you will be deployed from the start of the project installation to lead the project scope, timeline, and budget, all the way through to testing, commissioning, and solution acceptance so that a well-functioning installation can be handed over once the DC launches.
As part of the Automation team, you will lead the project in delivering an on-time, on-budget material handling solution. This will involve a deep understanding of project methodologies as well as having understanding and experience with all aspects of material handling equipment.
* Reports to Process & Automation Director in all aspects of project technical delivery and scope management.
* Working with the 3+ MHE vendors to manage timeline, scope, and budget.
* Managing the interface of the vendor information and our internal tracking and governance processes.
* Collaborating with Technology teams internally and externally to ensure plans and dependencies are aligned.
* Collaborating with NIKE Construction teams to ensure plans and dependencies are aligned.
* Working with the vendors and MHE team to agree and execute a detailed week-by-week storyboard for the installation.
* Managing the timeline holistically across multiple parties for the install and highlighting any dependencies and managing these through.
* Ensuring that all change and contingency requests are identified and brought to conclusion.
* Leading the vendor/Nike weekly meeting structure and capturing accurate project records and actions.
* Maintaining an accurate RAID log.
* Maintaining an accurate project timeline.
* Managing the approved MHE budget working alongside our finance partner, including the raising of purchase orders.
* Using standard methodologies and your experience to engage internal and external partners and teammates to achieve strong results.
* You ensure sound project management control, structured communication, and guard timelines and budget accordingly.
