Role Description: Our client, a trusted name in the cleaning industry, has an exciting opportunity for a People Partner to join their Team in London. Our client has seen significant growth over the years since they formed over 50 years ago, providing exceptional cleaning services to London and the Southeast, but more recently expanding and supporting customers across the country. As People Partner you will be required to provide professional and proactive advice and offer your support across a vast range of employment matters, ensuring compliance and best practice. The ideal People Partner will be experienced in a similar role with a strong understanding of HR best practice and UK employment law. Responsibilities: Work with the commercial, operations team and managers across the company to facilitate the smooth running of TUPE transfers Prepare TUPE employer liability information and support consultations with affected employees where cleaning contracts are lost Prepare business cases, calculate redundancy costs and manage redundancy consultation process where contracts are lost and TUPE does not apply Carry out due diligence process and supporting mobilisation process and onboarding of new starters for new contracts (including the recruitment of new employees where TUPE does not apply) Build trusted relationships with managers and supervisors, provide HR advice, coaching and support to enable them to manage and develop high performing teams in accordance with employment policies and relevant legislation Manage complex employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, flexible working, redundancies and SOSR dismissals Develop excellent working relationships with the priority team at the company’s employment law consultants to ensure that all employment advice given is relevant to the company, reduces risk to the company and is compliant with insurance indemnity policy Identify development needs and skills gaps through interactions with managers and work with the People team and Learning and Development Manager to implement solutions to meet learning and development needs Ensure HR systems (CMS Templa) are kept up to date Produce reports from the HR system (CMS Templa) for the purpose of auditing and monitoring employee data Undertake ad hoc project work as identified by the Director of People and Culture e.g. to improve employee engagement, improve systems and processes and ensure compliance with changes to relevant employment, immigration, data protection, health & safety and other legislation Identify where improvements can be made to enhance people management practices Administration of recruitment, vetting and induction processes as required Preparation of contractual and other employee documentation Provide assistance and guidance to members of the People and Payroll team as required Attend training courses as requested and seek to improve personal skills in order to enhance upon individual performance and career development Develop and proactively work towards business objectives - aim to be a major factor in the company’s success and requirement for contract retention and growth strategies Requirements: Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice Ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders Excellent attention to detail Experience of dealing with TUPE processes (incoming and outgoing) Previous HR experience within the cleaning industry Ability to use own initiative Ability to prioritise workload Good communication skills, both written and oral Strong IT skills Previous experience within a generalist HR role
