Main duties of the job
Youwill be working with experienced, knowledgeable and skilled colleagues from arange of health professional backgrounds. You will have an allocatedportfolio of work aligned to specific CSU's. Working directly with CSUcolleagues, you will support the clinical areas in identifying andimplementing training, development and supportive actions which enablepractice colleagues to provide safe, effective and robust learningexperiences for learners across the full range of non-medical practiceplacements.
Workingin partnership with the clinical teams and University stakeholders, you willlead locally, on the implementation of the quality assurance nationalrequirements which impact on practice learning. In doing so, you will developstrategies and resources to ensure that practice areas provide high qualityand safe practice placements that provide suitable preparation of learners tojoin the healthcare workforce.
Asan experienced Practice Assessor/Supervisor/Educator, you will draw upon yourprior experience to advise and support learners and colleagues in practice inidentifying, managing and resolving any issues which arise for learnersduring their practice placements. This may involve meeting with learners,their supervisors and lecturers to advise on restorative action plans, toidentify relevant areas for improvement (be that for any party or thesetting) or to support in optimising the available learning in a givensetting.

JOBSUMMARY:
Tolead on the development and maintenance of quality assured practiceplacements for non-medical healthcare students undertaking educationaltraining within the Leeds placement circuit, in line with NMC, HCPC, HealthEducation England quality assurance framework.
Leadat a local, regional and national level on quality assurance initiativesrelating to practice learning. Liaise with and support nursing, midwife andAHP leads with quality assurance initiatives relating to practice learning.
Reviewand further develop processes and systems that support quality practicelearning across the healthcare community.
Beresponsible for developing and facilitating effective and efficientpartnerships/networks locally and nationally with the view to sharing bestpractice.
Actas a conduit between the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and placementproviders from within NHS and non-NHS organisations.
Engagein the preparation and delivery of educational programmes which impact on thequality of practice learning and student progression in practice.
Provideimmediate and strategic views on issues relating to practice learning.
PRINCIPALDUTIES & AREAS RESPONSIBILITY:
To be an expert resource forcolleagues seeking advice and guidance on issues relating to practicelearning.
Lead on the design andimplementation of quality monitoring processes in collaboration with theeducation and placement providers.
Lead locally in support of thestrategic direction of nationally and locally driven quality assurancemethodology in relation to practice learning.
Lead locally on the implementationof the quality assurance national requirements which impact on practicelearning.
Create robust communicationnetworks for practice learning issues to be raised between NHS and non-NHSservice providers, Higher and Further education and Health Education Englandas appropriate.
Promote effective partnershipworking with stakeholders
Identify and create opportunitiesfor practice learning within a multi-professional environment that meets theneeds of the learning outcomes of the professions involved.
Further develop existing placementsand create new and innovative opportunities for students.
Increase the number of qualitylearning opportunities within the community, mental health and primary caresetting.
Work with HEI and service providersto ensure the number of mentors/assessors/practice supervisors across thehealthcare community is sufficient and appropriately prepared in terms ofmentor updates, sign-off mentors, and triennial review, to support thenumbers of students in practice now and in the future.
Advise the development of effectivesupport systems for mentors/assessors/practice supervisors.
Advise and support the developmentand implementation of new models of placement learning.

* Recognised qualification relating to teaching or supporting learning in practice
* PNA or restorative supervision qualification or equivalent
