Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and enthusiastic Children's Residential Support Workers to provide essential care and support to children and young people who are under the care of Local Authorities. The ideal candidates will have a nurturing approach and a genuine desire to assist those in need whilst supporting them with important decisions and transitions that will lead them into living a successful and rewarding adult life.
Duties
1. Support health, wellbeing and educational needs
2. Learn, create, and implement care plans tailored to each young person's specific needs in line with The Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015 legislation, this duty will be undertaken through training and supervision from Senior Colleagues.
3. Engage children in meaningful activities and build trusting relationships
4. Administer medication as required
5. Support children with independence tasks and meal preparation to prepare for adult life
6. Maintain accurate records of care provided
7. Support your Team Leader with appropriate tasks relevant to your experience
8. Liaise with external agencies in respect of the young people's needs and advocate as appropriate
9. Be willing to undertake the relevant training in line with The Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is advantageous
2. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, their families and external agencies involved in the overall safeguarding of each young person
3. A valid driving licence may be beneficial for certain roles
4. Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
5. Knowledge in Safeguarding and being able to demonstrate this within your day to day role
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.20-£14.00 per hour
