This is a good opportunity for the right person where confidence is a key factor. Undertaking various duties within the company, the successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with clients in person and over the telephone, managing and maintaining our client database and other general administration duties to assist all departments.
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4:45pm. Friday, 8.00am to 3:45pm. 45-minute lunch break. 39 hours a week.
Duration: 1 year 6 months
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Answering telephone calls and taking/transferring
* Typing letters and preparing documents to go to clients
* Dealing with incoming mail
* Managing the office diary
* Managing and maintaining the client database
* Storing and retrieving client records from archive
* Dealing with HMRC on behalf of clients
* Assisting with company secretarial duties for clients
* Assisting payroll and bookkeeping departments
* Additional ad hoc administrative tasks in support of all departments

Business administrator (level 3) - Equal to A level
Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and presents solutions to management.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
* Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms.
* Completes tasks to a high standard. Demonstrates the necessary level of expertise required to complete tasks and applies themself to continuously improve their work.
* Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time in order to successfully meet deadlines.
* Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report.
