Overview
The Contract Manager will be responsible for operational delivery of a best-in-class service and strategic plan in line with growth plans which will deliver competitive advantage. Managing across the JD Sports contract working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Accountable for all safety and operational processes and management of day-to-day operations teams.

How will you contribute?
1. Deploy operational and commercial objectives to deliver the JD Sports contract plan and growth
2. Monitor and measure performance to maximise operational efficiency and profitability
3. Effectively manage resources and skills to deliver tactical and strategic objectives
4. Manage and optimise all key transport management KPIs relating to delivery, compliance, H&S, and cost management
5. Manage all systems, processes, procedures, and training related to all sites under your control
6. Drive improved consistency of transport operational practice and performance, enabling collaboration and cross-functional best practice
7. Ensure service excellence through a culture of continuous improvement and an engaged team
8. Develop, improve, and implement JD Sports operations plans to meet company goals
9. Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to deliver required service, initiatives, and growth to customers
10. Manage the transport budget and ensure that all transport costs are maintained through the management of transport KPIs
11. Deliver best-in-class health & safety, wellbeing & sustainability standards
12. Work closely with Finance functional teams to contribute to business financial forecasting and deliver targets across the JD Sports contract
What will you bring?
1. Proven track record of delivering safe transport operations, underpinned by a behavioural-based safety culture, with clear consideration for colleague wellbeing
2. Demonstrable, relevant management experience of leading teams responsible for delivering high-quality results to customers
3. Ability to provide effective customer insight, reporting, feedback and communication
4. Strategic thinker with a deep appreciation of the fast-paced Transport industry, both open and closed book
5. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
6. Excellent customer relationship management skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
7. Proven track record of building high performing teams within a complex service delivery environment
8. Strong commercial capabilities and contract knowledge and understanding
9. Comprehensive operational knowledge gained within a large complex 3PL environment
10. Proven experience in delivering results, creating opportunities for innovation and managing change
11. High standards of integrity, leadership, and fairness at all times and be able to effectively coach, manage and motivate staff to reach their full potential
12. Problem-solving for improving processes, increasing efficiency, service and profits
13. Flexible location with UK travel required
