Pupils are aged 5- 19yrs and have a range of Special Educational Needs, as well as SEMH associated needs such as ADHD. Many of the students have suffered trauma and have found mainstream education to be difficult. The school focuses on areas where progress can be made whether emotionally, socially, behaviourally or academically. The Behaviour Support Assistant will support in small classes using behaviour management skills in assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning. This is an excellent SEN school with a strong reputation in the community, staff here enjoy excellent work life balance and smaller class sizes (less tha10 per class). Both sites have excellent transport links and onsite parking. There is a community feel to this school with staff all contributing towards the excellent working environment. Requirements The desired Support Worker will: • Be confident in behaviour management skills to de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour. • To mentor and engage with the students, delivering specifically designed educational packages. • You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally. • Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
