Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) – Pembrokeshire, Wales – Hybrid Working – £42-£45 per hour Are you a qualified and experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a dedicated AMHP to join our team in Pembrokeshire, providing specialist support and intervention to individuals experiencing mental health crises. This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing a balance of remote work and essential in-person assessments.
Role Overview: As an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), you will be responsible for undertaking Mental Health Act assessments, coordinating crisis interventions, and working closely with multi-agency teams to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in need. You will play a crucial role in upholding legal frameworks and advocating for individuals experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and make informed decisions regarding detentions, treatment, and community care options. Work closely with health professionals, emergency services, and legal representatives to manage crisis situations. Assess risk and develop intervention plans that promote recovery and well-being. Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation. Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues, partner agencies, and service users. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on case management systems. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with AMHP status. Registered with Social Care Wales. Experience working in mental health services and crisis intervention. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding protocols. Ability to work under pressure, manage risk, and make complex decisions.
