Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and preparing them for a successful future? Do you believe in relational, therapeutic approaches that celebrate individuality, foster emotional wellbeing, and support inclusive education?
The Orchard School is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Curriculum (Pupil Support) professional to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will provide targeted interventions for pupils who require additional support to engage positively with their learning. Alongside this, you will deliver cover teaching—including Key Stage 4 Careers Education—ensuring that pupils develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive beyond school. Working closely with the Phase Lead and reporting to the Pupil Support Leader, you will be a key player in shaping a restorative, nurturing environment that reflects our whole-school ethos.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver personalised interventions and restorative strategies to promote Relational Therapeutic Behaviour and Therapeutic Thinking.
2. Provide cover teaching across the school at the request of the Senior Leadership Team, including specialist support in Key Stage 4 Careers Education.
3. Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
4. Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of pupil progress, adapting approaches as needed to ensure every learner reaches their full potential.
5. Champion an inclusive, non-punitive ethos where all pupils feel valued, safe, and empowered.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Relevant qualifications or experience in youth work, counselling, mental health support, careers guidance, or other related fields.
2. Proven ability to engage young people with diverse needs, delivering both targeted interventions and creative curriculum coverage.
3. Excellent communication skills, empathy, and resilience.
4. A commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and the wellbeing of all pupils.
5. A reflective practitioner eager to learn, adapt, and align with The Orchard School’s values.
What We Offer:
1. A supportive, forward-thinking environment with a strong focus on professional development.
2. Opportunities to influence whole-school strategies and contribute to a positive, nurturing culture.
3. The chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people, helping them to embrace their potential and prepare for future pathways.
If you are enthusiastic about inclusive education, restorative practice, and guiding pupils towards brighter futures, we would love to hear from you.
