Job summary Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of those programmes. According to anaesthetic/surgical intervention, plan, implement and evaluate the care of the conscious/unconscious patient in the department under supervision. Under supervision plan and prepare relevant equipment for planned operating lists. Recognise priorities in organising patient care and manage workload appropriately. Evaluate pre and post-operative care relating to the prevention of post-operative complications. Effectively convey the plan of nursing care, surgical and recovery information to others. Ensure that surgical/anaesthetic instructions are carried out.
