Job Summary:
The Compliance Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Legal Affairs department, serving as a key liaison to the Head of Compliance, with whom they maintain regular communication in their day-to-day responsibilities. The Legal Affairs department is dedicated to delivering timely and exceptional support to the organisation’s business units and staff functions.
As a key driver and stakeholder, the Compliance Manager ensures the organisation achieves excellence in global mobility. They also oversee compliance management during the implementation of group company projects across various locations.
Please note that, due to our global footprint, this role is being advertised both internationally and specifically in Porto, Portugal.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement compliance programs and policies.
* Support and attend project preparation meetings and project start-ups with information about country-specific schemes and legislation, working time regulations, registration requirements, required training, etc.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks.
* Provide training and support to employees on compliance-related matters.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues.
* Prepare and submit compliance reports both internal as well as to regulatory authorities as required.
* Manage and coordinate the compliance aspects among others in regard to required licenses, certifications, permits.
* Ensure and manage compliance in relation to projects and country presence.
* Stay up to date with changes in law, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Occasional Responsibilities:
* Support the global mobility aspects, including visa processes.
Essential Requirements:
* Certified lawyer holding a university master’s degree in law and having several years of previous working experience in the field of law.
* Knowledge on employment and B2B contracts.
* A high degree of initiative and personal responsibility, strong analytical skills as well as high communication skills, flexibility and openness as well as thoroughness.
* The ability to present complex issues in a comprehensible and appropriate manner.
* Excellent critical thinking and evaluation skills.
* Must be a team player with a positive mindset, capable of working both independently and in team environments.
* Must possess strong social skills, enabling the Compliance Manager to manage dialogue with stakeholders from various functions, and through dialogue and cooperation to succeed with its tasks.
* Fluent in oral and written English.
* Experience in the wind industry is a plus.
* Preferably based in Porto, Portugal.
