FULL-TIME TEAM MEMBER SOUGHT FOR
ESTATES AND GROUNDS TEAM IN THE SUMMER ISLES
We are a large scale, dynamic and forward-thinking restoration and hospitality project in the Northwest Highlands with strong philanthropic and community commitments. The heart of our operation is on a remote and beautiful, 800-acre island. Our Regeneration and Communities department is looking to fill a role in the Estate and Grounds Team. We are recruiting someone who will help care for, maintain and restore the wonderful landscapes and ecosystems we have across all our sites.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in estate work and groundskeeping, as well as great flexibility and general enthusiasm for working on the land and sharing all that we do with guests and volunteers. The core of this role is soft-landscaping and maintaining visual aesthetics around all our properties. Interest in animal husbandry, horses, growing food, ecology and other areas of our work would be a bonus.
Our land management approach balances production, nature, and heritage, with an emphasis on using the land to build communities. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful outdoor environment, focusing on the sustainable care and management of the landscape and ecosystems. This is a core role in the Estate and Grounds team but will involve working closely with the gardens, kitchen, guest team, charitable beneficiaries and community volunteers.
LAND
We are looking for a land worker with experience in a professional environment: proficient in the use and maintenance of hand tools, tractors, grass-cutting equipment and chainsaws, and also happy to help deliver seasonal and spontaneous guest and volunteer opportunities to muck in with team activities. We are open to prospective candidates with the right temperament, attitude and aptitude looking for professional mentorship and will offer training and development.
COMMUNITIES
Our team is diverse, driven, and hails from across the country and further afield. We have our own growing island community of staff, guests and volunteers, while also being embedded in mainland life in nearby crofting townships and villages. There are opportunities to work with different teams, help look after our animals, sail heritage boats, host guests, school groups and volunteers, and generally get involved with island life. We will be happy to discuss flexible shift patterns and shared accommodation with the right candidate.
ENVIRONMENT
The Tanera project is delivering stunning, sympathetic builds in an area of outstanding natural and cultural heritage. You will be working amid a range of unique Northwest Highland marine and terrestrial ecosystems, which we are striving to conserve and extend. We foster a culture of care, attention to detail, and creativity in everything we deliver for the Charitable Trust for which we work, from looking after our guests, staff and local communities to growing and sourcing our food to restoring buildings and landscapes.
The salary range for this role is from £29k - £37k per annum plus benefits including company pension, discretionary bonus and private medical insurance.
Diversity Statement
We are committed to being an inclusive employer with a diverse and representative workforce. We encourage applications from people from the widest possible range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
We are looking for a capable, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisation skills, and a good sense of humour, who will thrive on a challenging, remote project.
