We are currently seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team in specialist schools across East Sussex. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support and guidance to children with a range of SEND requirements, helping them to reach their full potential and achieve academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom.
* Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of all students.
* Supporting students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
* Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to the class teacher, SENCO, and other relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in an educational or care setting.
* A genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of children with diverse needs and abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and embracing new opportunities for learning and development.
* Relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with SEND (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools) - Desirable but not essential.
