Job summary
The post holder will:
1. Provide effective day to day professional adviceacross the service, leading, organising, and managing OH nurse clinics andworkload, reporting to the Clinical Lead Nurse on general progress and aroundany areas of difficulty or need.
2. Receive, interpret and manage highly complexhealth information and advise on restrictions on job role, providing highlyspecialised advice regarding work health assessments and fitness for workassessments in line with professional standards, legal obligations and ABCpolicy
3. On a daily basis support the work of theOccupational Health team and liaise with the Service Manager regarding progressand around any areas of difficulty or need.
4. Act as mentor for Occupational Health nurses andoffer advice and support on complex cases
5. Act as an expert advisor on specific programmesof work as required, health surveillance
6. Work as an autonomous practitioner offeringspecialist advice to both internal staff and external clients
7. Provide the highest standard of clinical care,ensuring that all clinical standards are met and where necessary takingappropriate corrective action.
8. Provide a visible, accessible and knowledgeablepresence in the service to whom service users and managers can turn forassistance, advice and support.
9. To participate in relevant training, healtheducation and induction programmes as required.
10. Toensure Continuing Professional Development is achieved in line with professionalrevalidation guidelines

12. To lead on the audit of clinical practice andprocedures to monitor, evaluate and enhance the quality, effectiveness, andefficiency of the Occupational Health Service.

About our Occupational Health Service
Our Occupational Health Service is newly launched and isdesigned to prioritise employees health and wellbeing from the moment theystart work.
The service caters for both internal staff and externalclients and includes the full remit of Occupational Health practice including:
pre-employment medical screening
management referrals, interviews, and examinations
vaccinations including Tetanus / Polio / Diphtheria, Hepatitis B, andMMR
We arecurrently in a growth phase and our aim is to continue this growth by expandingour dedicated and experienced team in order to continue delivering an exceptionalservice for our staff and clients.

15. To lead on the development and implementation oforganisational policies pertaining to Occupational Health.
16. Working with the service leads to raise theprofile of the service and develop relationships to enhance the engagement withthe service.
17. Regularly reviewing client resources handouts, resource lists and documental referral pathways
18. Manage own time effectively.
19. To implement and deliver inductions/teachingsessions as identified by clients or groups of individuals on various aspectsof Occupational Health
20. To assist with ensuring that the OccupationalHealth Service maintains accurate records and storage for its clients inaccordance within legal requirements.
21. To take responsibility for personal,professional development, keeping abreast of relevant changes and developmentof best practise. Ensuring knowledgegained is shared with colleagues.
22. To assist with the induction and orientation ofnew Occupational Health staff.

Clinical Responsibilities
24. To work independently within a multidisciplinaryteam in accordance with NMC guidelines
25. To work autonomously within a framework ofclinical governance and clinical supervision prioritising the delivery of carebased on a clinical assessment of individual needs.
26. To develop programmes of care and advise onfitness to work for staff as part of own clinical caseload.

33. To contribute to the safety and cleanliness ofthe department and ensuring appropriate disposal of clinical waste within theworkplace in accordance with appropriate policy, procedure and guidelines.

41. To interpret laboratory information based uponclinical judgement, giving appropriate advice and information whilst liaisingwith appropriate agencies.
42. To undertake individual vaccination andimmunisation programmes as directed by the department, using own clinicaljudgement and evidence-based practice in accordance with national, local anddepartment policies, conducting assessment of individual needs and providingeducation and advice to ensure informed consent.
