Description Salary £31,067 - £35,235 Per annum | Full time | Permanent | 37 hours per week | Lancashire | International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Here at Lancashire County Council, we are helping to make Lancashire the best place to live, work, visit and prosper. Lancashire is a vibrant and striking place and Lancashire County Council exists to serve everyone who lives or works in Lancashire. As the fourth largest local authority in the country and the largest in the North of England, we serve over 1.2 million residents. The Highways Asset Management Service is responsible for ensuring that Lancashire County Council meets its statutory duty as a highway's authority through strategic management of over 7,500 kilometres of vehicular highway network. Occasionally over the highway network there will be vegetation (trees and shrubs) on private land which pose a threat to the safe use of the highway. This role involves working closely with the tree management team, legal services and landowners in the serving of notices instructing landowners to take the appropriate action in relation to dead, insecurely rooted or dangerous trees and shrubs which pose a risk to safe passage along the highway. Such legal notices have strict time limits so strong organisational, written communication and attention to details skills are required. Experience of working with map-based inventory systems would be an advantage. Working across Lancashire (van provided) the position will include carrying out site inspections, and re-inspections to check for compliance with issued notices, therefore it is expected that the role will be 50% on the road visiting sites and 50% office or home working based drawing up. As such, please note that this is an essential car user post and a full driving licence valid for the UK will be required. If you would like to discuss this opportunity, please contact Michael Anders on 07954 414 989. If you're already a Lancashire County Council employee you must apply via the internal vacancies option on Oracle Fusion. You can do this by logging into Oracle Fusion and then going to Me - Current Jobs. You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability. Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to shortlist you for interview without this evidence. In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, which can be found on LCC Vacancies website. We reserve the right to close down a vacancy early, before the closing date, if we receive sufficient applications. Job Description and Person Specification
