A well-established construction consultancy is looking for a dedicated and team-focused Clerk of Works to join their collaborative and supportive team in the heart of Liverpool.
This family-oriented consultancy comprises a close-knit team of 20 professionals, specialising in residential projects such as apartments, houses, extra care facilities, and bungalows. With a strong reputation for serving housing associations across the Northwest, they pride themselves on fostering a welcoming and honest work environment.
The Clerk of Works Role
The successful Clerk of Works will:
Review Employers' Requirements, Contractors' Proposals, Contract Programmes, drawings, and specifications to ensure work aligns with high-quality standards.
Monitor compliance with CDM 2015, Building Regulations, Planning Approvals, and NHBC/Premier requirements.
Produce weekly reports on progress and quality, noting any issues and remedial actions.
Conduct regular site visits to oversee project progress and adherence to specifications.
Attend Site Progress Meetings, reviewing sample panels, mock-ups, and service installations.
Oversee snagging and defect resolution processes, ensuring issues are tracked, reported, and rectified.
The Clerk of Works
The ideal Clerk of Works will:
Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, building strong relationships with project teams.
Have an in-depth understanding of construction methods, regulations, and JCT contracts.
Possess extensive experience as a Clerk of Works on new-build residential developments, preferably working with Housing Association clients.
Be a member of ICWCI, CIOB, or an equivalent professional body.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000.
