The ideal candidate for the Installation Supervisor role will have keen attention to detail, a methodical mind set, and the self-structure required to work autonomously, and in a wider team. In anticipation of a significant period of growth, the candidate should be keen to take ownership of tasks. A large part of this role will involve installing pipework with trenches a meter below ground level at all times of the year, consideration must be taken in this regard. While some lone working may at times be required most of our work will be carried out with a team of engineers. All candidates must be able to work well as part of a team and encourage others to do so too. Experience and Skills: Engineering Excellence : Adherence and championing of Rendesco installation processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve superior project outcomes. Technical Leadership: Providing technical guidance and oversight to Installation Engineers to ensure innovative, efficient, and high-quality Installation solutions are implemented across all Rendesco projects. Demonstratable professional experience in plumbing and/or pipefitting: A solid foundation of hands-on experience in plumbing and/or pipefitting is essential, demonstrating a proven ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot water and heating systems. This includes exposure to a variety of materials, tools, and techniques commonly used in the trade, along with a track record of completing projects to a high standard. Technical knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems, including flow and pressure: A strong grasp of the principles of hydraulic systems, including the behaviour of fluids under different pressures and flow conditions, enabling the candidate to design, install, and maintain efficient systems that meet performance and safety requirements. Understanding of regulations and guidelines relating to hot water systems : Strong understanding and compliance with regulations such as the UK’s Building Regulations Part G or equivalent, as well as guidelines governing the safe design, installation, and operation of hot water systems, ensuring compliance and adherence to best practices by the site teams and themselves. Proven track record in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction industry: Strong and significant experience working in sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure development, or construction, which provides valuable insight into industry-specific challenges and practices, particularly in sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. Personal Attributes: Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal: Strong leader who is used to supervising and leading site Installation Engineers. Strong communication skills are vital for liaising with team members, clients, and other stakeholders, as well as for accurately documenting work, providing clear instructions, and resolving queries or issues effectively. Motivated and enthusiastic team player: A positive attitude with a willingness to contribute and instill this attribute to their Installation Engineers. Pushing for team success, showing initiative and adaptability while working collaboratively on projects, sharing knowledge, and supporting colleagues as needed. This may involve working in different environments and adapting to diverse site conditions. Detail-oriented and consistent, able to error-check own work and correct mistakes: A meticulous approach to tasks, with the ability to thoroughly review and verify work to ensure accuracy and quality, proactively identifying and correcting any errors to maintain high standards. As part of our engineering team, your duties will include completion of and supervising roles for: Installation of heat pump systems: This includes the coordination of Installation Engineer teams for the setting up and integrating heat pump units mainly for large-scale plant rooms but inclusive of individual residential properties, ensuring all connections, fittings, and system components are properly installed and comply with relevant regulations and standards. This comprises the vast majority of Rendesco projects. Installation of Heat Interface Units: Fitting Heat Interface Units (HIUs) in residential settings, which involves connecting these units to centralised heating systems to provide efficient heating and hot water supply within individual homes. Pipefitting of heating/cooling/hot water distribution systems: Installing, aligning, and securing pipework for the distribution of heated, cooled, or hot water throughout buildings, ensuring optimal system performance and adherence to safety and operational standards. Installation of fusion weld pipework: Performing fusion welding to join pipework at ground level and within residential properties, ensuring durable and leak-proof connections for the transport of heating and cooling fluids. Installation of PIP {pre insulated pipework}: Laying and connecting pre-insulated pipework in trenches or at ground level, focusing on efficient insulation and long-term reliability for heating and cooling systems in outdoor or underground installations. Basic electrical work to the various parts of our heat pump systems: Performing essential electrical tasks related to the heat pump systems, such as wiring, connecting control panels, and ensuring proper integration of electrical components with system mechanics as and if required. Fault finding and fixing any problems that arise: Diagnosing and resolving any operational issues within the heat pump systems, using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
