We are delighted to be recruiting two Highway Maintenance Senior Technicians that will sit in either the Surfacing and Patching Team or the Drainage Asset and Cyclical Works Team.
About The Role
The position of Senior Technician will involve site surveys, design works, producing works order packs for contractors, site supervision and audits, updating inventory data, engagement with members of the public and dealing with transactions and complaints.
A typical week for officers would see you having a team day each week in one of the local offices where we catch up on scheme progress and managers updates. You may then have a day on site with our contractor’s team assessing proposed and ongoing works, a day measuring proposed future works, and two days working from home completing scheme design data.
You will be assisted by a dedicated manager focused on creating a personalised highway maintenance training program for you. Your ongoing development is a priority for us because we want to help you reach your full potential within LCC and advance through our available levels. You will benefit from both internal and external training, including attending college, with our full support in obtaining formal qualifications, all of which we will cover financially.
You will need a good level of technical knowledge, be able to engage with the community, and have the ability to inspect and place works orders to the Alliance contractors. These diverse posts have a varied workload including the coordination of works, daily communication with a variety of customers and groups in a range of methods and assisting in the development and use of suitable IT systems and processes.
We have a flexible approach to working patterns and base each individual at the office located closest to their residence to avoid unnecessary traveling. So you will need a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle to enable you to be mobile across the County.
We recognise that individual needs differ and you will be supported to achieve the best mix for yourself to achieve agreed outcomes, and we closely monitor individuals’ workloads and progress to ensure a work-life balance is achieved.
About The Team
The Operational Asset Management Team is responsible for delivering a wide variety of highway maintenance works in conjunction with our partners Balfour Beatty.
