Oakwood Community Inpatient Unit, Prospect Park Hospital, Reading
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours) Health Care Clinical Support worker within the In-patient Physical rehabilitation based at Prospect Park Hospital.
Oakwood is a nurse-led community inpatient hospital with 24 beds. We are a very friendly team with in-house doctors, nurses, health care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and multi-therapy assistants.
The role will be based in the Oakwood inpatient community hospital which aims to support patients in increasing rehabilitative goals and functional abilities during a short stay to enable them to return home.
We are looking for dynamic and motivated staff who can provide effective communication skills, a flexible approach, and an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently. To ensure patient safety is maintained at all times, fulfill the role of Healthcare Clinical Support using a Competency Tool applicable to this role.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
* English to a standard to be able to fulfil the role (fluent in written and verbal English).
* Will be expected to undertake NVQ 2 in care or equivalent.
* Good communication skills both verbally and written.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn new skills and attend study sessions.
Person specification
Education/Qualification/Training
* English and Maths (A*-C or 9-4) GCSE or equivalent qualification.
* Willingness to undertake the Care Certificate.
Previous Experience
* Demonstrable experience of delivering excellent customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
* Knowledge of personal care and related procedures.
* Proficient IT skills; able to input, save, and open information in a variety of systems.
* Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues in a variety of roles and seniorities, and service users where there may be barriers to understanding or engagement.
* Understanding of personal capabilities and limitations, with the ability to know when to escalate to senior colleagues. Demonstrate reflection to identify areas for learning and development.
* Ability to effectively prioritise activities to maximise efficiency.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to travel to multiple sites during the course of the working day where the location may be challenging to reach via public transport.
