We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is a Non-Medical Prescriber to work alongside our older adult medical workforce in the Shrewsbury area on a part-time basis for up to a 6 month period to cover maternity leave.
You will need to have experience in working within a community mental health setting, ideally with older adults presenting with functional mental health presentations, providing assessments and follow-ups within a clinic setting as a non-medical prescriber.
Our Community Mental Health Services provide assessment and evidence based interventions for people who presenting with complex mental health difficulties that are significantly impacting on their daily life alongside our partner organisations.
As a registered professional, you must be committed to providing a high-quality service and be willing to support improving access, treatment and care to our older adult population.
You will be working as an autonomous prescriber and will effectively manage a dedicated caseload.
Main duties of the job
* You will work predominantly with older adult service user population who are registered within the primary care within the Shrewsbury area, as a non-medical prescriber you will work autonomously completing assessments and reviews for service users deemed appropriate for this service.
* You will carry out assessments, reviews and associated prescribing for service users following agreed practice guidelines as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to provide on-going care reviews.
* You will carry out reviews of service users who are having medication prescribed in primary care and need an annual review for this to continue.
* You will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of care planning and risk management.
* You will deliver a high quality clinical service to Service Users, their Families and Carers in the Community.
* You will demonstrate an attitude which respects the core values of the organisation and the principles of Recovery.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A qualified/registered mental health nurse plus diploma level equivalent qualification in sphere of professional practice
* Additional specialist training, Non-Medical prescribing V300
* Evidence of professional updating and development within mental health services
* Clinical Supervision Training
* Masters level qualification in a relevant field, e.g. advanced clinical practice
* Leadership Course
* Specialist Training
Experience
* Significant demonstrable experience of delivering care and interventions to service users within a mental health setting
* Experience of working with more complex and challenging needs
* Experience of working with a range of statutory, non-statutory agencies
