Practice Nurse - Sunnybank Health Centre
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a practice nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Sunnybank Health Centre.
You will deliver treatment room clinics and provide health screening, assessments, health education and advice to patients of the practice as well as wound management, cytology examinations, contraception clinics, baby immunisation clinics, travel vaccinations and adult immunisation clinics.
Ideally, you will have experience of general practice nursing; however, we are open to providing training to the right candidate.
There will be opportunities for development within the role at the practice should this be of interest to the successful applicant.
You will be working with a supportive, flexible and forward-thinking practice team who are passionate about providing a proactive approach to patient care within the general practice environment.

1. Health Screening & Promotion
2. Patient assessments
3. Blood pressure monitoring
4. Cervical Cytology examinations
5. Wound care/management
6. Adults immunisations
7. Childhood immunisations
8. Urine testing
9. ECG's
10. Travel health advice and vaccinations
11. Attending meetings relevant to the role

Sunnybank Health Center is a GP practice covering the Cefn Fforest/Blackwood area. We have a list size of around 6000 patients. The practice delivers a high standard of patient care. We are always looking towards the development of the practice, services and ways of working in line with the changing face of the NHS. The practice offers a supportive and flexible working environment. Our team consists of GPs, Independent Prescribing Clinical Pharmacist, Minor Illness Practice Nurses, HCAs, a well-organised administration team along with a varied team of allied healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibilities
1. To deliver nursing care and treatment to patients of the practice
2. Work within agreed protocols to undertake clinics and provide enhanced service to patients of the practice
3. Carry out health assessments & patient health checks
4. To provide health promotion and advice to patients of the practice
5. Provide travel advice and immunisations
6. To provide wound management & care
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Hold current UK professional registration with NMC
* Hold certificates of training in all aspects of treatment room nursing
Experience
* Good interpersonal skills both written and verbal
* Treatment room skills including wound care
* Ability to implement learning in practice
* Good team working
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of working with general practice computer systems
