We are looking for an experienced Capital Accountant to join our Finance team at Paradigm Housing Group. You will be responsible for managing the Group’s Fixed Asset Registers, ensuring all housing property capital transactions are accurately recorded from inception through to completion. This is a pivotal role in supporting the financial reporting of our property development and reinvestment activities, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update the Group’s project ledger and fixed asset registers. Track the progress of development programmes and accurately account for multi-tenure schemes. Prepare and process development nominal ledger journals for month-end and year-end, including capitalisation of administrative costs and interest. Ensure accurate project close-out procedures, including preparation of cost summary reports and regulatory submissions for grant claims. Manage property depreciation calculations and maintain records of cumulative depreciation. Account for capitalised reinvestment expenditure and ensure correct financial reporting of these assets. Lead the annual review of accounting policies related to non-current assets, recommending updates where necessary. Maintain the Group’s social housing grant register and manage amortisation processes. Ensure accurate valuation and reporting of investment properties in the annual financial reports. Assist in budgeting and forecasting for capital spend and depreciation. Support the wider financial services team as required. Key Skills And Experience Required Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, IPFA, CIMA) (E); full qualification desirable. Strong technical Excel skills. Demonstrable experience in capital accounting. Experience within the social housing sector (is preferable). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to work with complex data.
