Chemical Blending Operator £28-£30,000, excellent benefit scheme Days, Mon-Friday, no shift work, Permanent We’re working with an exciting client who’s on the lookout for a Chemical Blending Operator to join their Formulation department This is a hands-on role where you’ll oversee the blending of specialty products in batches up to 15,000 litres using state-of-the-art industrial equipment. If you have a passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement, this could be a great fit for you THE ROLE Quality and Safety Promote and maintain ISO 9001 standards across all manufacturing activities. Identify areas for quality improvement and lead related projects. Support cross-department collaboration to resolve customer complaints and prevent repeat issues. Ensure processes are compliant with cross-contamination prevention protocols. Lead by example, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environment policies. Mentor and train blending associates on safety standards. Manage the safe storage and use of chemical ingredients. Help create and review risk assessments, ensuring a safe working environment. Be part of the site’s safety committee and play a key role in emergency shutdown procedures Efficiency & Operations Supervise a small team of skilled operatives and delegate tasks effectively. Manage production schedules and ensure smooth workflow. Inventory control Help drive process improvement initiatives and technical innovations Leadership Qualities Inspire and motivate the team by embedding a culture of safety, quality, and improvement. Coach and mentor staff to ensure their personal and professional development. Promote open communication and a positive working environment. What We’re Looking For: Essentials: Proven experience in a supervisory role within the chemical industry. Strong leadership skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Passion for safety, with an IOSH Managing Safely qualification or higher. A keen eye for quality and a track record of continuous improvement. IT savvy, with experience using ERP systems like SAP or LMS. A valid Counterbalance FLT licence. Minimum GCSEs in Maths, English, and Chemistry (Grade C or above).
