## Company:\n\nFinning (UK) Ltd\n\n## Number of Openings:\n\n1\n\n## Worker Type:\n\nPermanent\n\n## Position Overview:\n\nAs a Rebuild Repair Engineer you will be based in Finning’s Component Rebuild\nCentre (CRC), you will be tasked with stripping down, inspecting, rebuild and\ntesting of engines and transmission systems and components, It will be your\nrole to ensure that refurbishments are carried out to Finning standards and\ncustomer requirements\n\n## Job Description:\n\nAs a Finning Engineer you will receive:\n\n * Salary - £35,000 - £39,800\n * 25 days holiday (purchase up to 5 extra days holiday)\n * Annual Bonus\n * Annual Tool Allowance\n * Healthcare benefits (medical, optical, hearing, dentistry, and new child payments to support new parents)\n * Access to company share scheme\n * Up to 7% pension (matched by company)\n * life insurance\n * Laptop and phone, \n * Industry leading CAT product training\n * Overtime\n\nAdditionally, you will benefit from enhanced maternity and paternity packages,\nfamily-friendly policies to support working parents, enhanced flexible working\noptions, support from a team of 40+ Mental Health first aiders, employee\nwellbeing solutions, the opportunity to work with your charity of choice, and\nlength of service & recognition awards.\n\nWorking within an industry leading organisation at Finning, and the largest\nCAT dealership in the UK and Ireland, your role as Rebuild Repair Engineer\nwill be carrying out reconditioning and maintenance on Caterpillar products\nsuch as and supporting 2nd life overhauls.\n\nMajor Job Functions\n\n * Undertake a detailed inspection of the equipment to confirm or expand on any initial field inspection report so that a commercial assessment of the likely repair, replacement refurbishment work can be made.\n\n * Carry out standard diagnosis tests on components to enable more accurate cost evaluations or for the issue of condition and warranty agreements to customers.\n\n * Produce a comprehensive list of parts and materials required for the proposed machine preparation work.\n\n * Undertake overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on the machine to the agreed work plan, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention, re-installing the original or replacement part or repairing original parts.\n\n * Inspect and test completed machine to ensure unit is operating to expected performance levels.\n\nSpecific Skills\n\n * Flexibility, organisational and time management skills\n\n * Excellent attention to detail, work accuracynumeracy and quality orientated\n\n * Work autonomously on own initiative and also well as part of a team \n\n * Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business\n\n * Motivated and dynamic self-starter\n\n * Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines\n\n * Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills\n\n * A committed and positive attitude along with an obvious customer focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with customers\n\nKnowledge\n\n * Deep understanding of the use of general service manuals and computerised Service Information System (SIS) from the OEM \n\n * Practical knowledge of tooling and specialised equipment to conduct repairs on difficult and heavy machinery\n\n * Practical knowledge of rigging, slinging and jacking procedures\n\n * Knowledge of diesel engines and components\n\n * Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fitting knowledge\n\nAccountability\n\nAdhere to agreed job times. Ensure the highest quality of finished machines.\nMaintain availability of machines ready to hire and presentation of machine\nstock parked in yard. Ensure positive feedbacknil customer complaints.\nConstant awareness of SHEQ obligations and zero accidents by maintaining a\ntidy and safe working area.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\n * Preferably with a background plant machinery or similar industries i.e.
