The Candidate:
This role would suit a candidate with strong payroll processing experience, perhaps gained within a large global business or shared services centre. We are looking for someone with advanced Excel skills, and excellent accuracy. This is a fast paced role, and would suit a strong communicator, who thrives on being busy.
The Role:
This role is based within the friendly Finance team. The Payroll Service Centre is responsible for the end to end processing of the monthly payroll for staff. Reporting directly to the Payroll Deputy Team Leader, this is an exciting opportunity to support with these activities.
This is a broad and varied role with lots of opportunity to become involved in a wide range of activities. The role holder will have exposure to some aspects of international payroll processing and have the opportunity to participate in some dedicated project groups focussing on various topics, not just day-to-day payroll activity.
Key Responsibilities:
You will make an impact in this role by supporting with all payroll processing activities including:
1. Starters, leavers
2. One-off payments, season ticket and bicycle loans
3. Checking payroll changes
4. Tax uploads
5. Sickness Absence
6. Statutory Absence including Maternity and Shared Parental
7. International Payroll Processing
8. Reporting and reconciliations
9. Payroll reconciliations / Data cleansing
10. Third party payments
11. Assisting with correspondence and customer service
12. Ad-Hoc tasks as and when required
Requirements:
1. Demonstrate strong payroll processing experience
2. Have a solid working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel
3. Be able to work with an exceptionally high degree of accuracy and to tight timescales
4. Have an awareness or experience of working in a Shared Service Centre environment
5. Demonstrate an understanding of payroll legislation and processes
6. Be able to create and review procedures
7. Possess process improvement experience
8. Demonstrate excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
