Role Description
This is an opportunity for a full-time Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) role, although part-time and job-shares will also be considered. This is a site-based role working on a large infrastructure project, based in the West Midlands. The ECoW will be responsible for conducting site inspections, ecological surveys, implementing method statements and EAPs, and the ecological supervision of various construction activities on a day-to-day basis.
The ECoW would be working as part of a larger ECOW team on site, directed by the client's Ecology Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience in ecological monitoring and environmental assessment
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and conservation practices
* Ability to work independently and remotely
* BSc or MSc in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
* Experience working on construction sites
* Valid and relevant CSCS/LISS card
* Protected species licences are preferred
* Tree-climbing certifications (optional)
This is a great opportunity for an ecologist or ECoW to gain some fantastic experience on a large construction project, dealing with a variety of different challenges, working with GIS based on-site recording and being part of a supportive and experienced team of existing ECoWs.
