Are you an Outstanding Children’s Social Worker?
We are looking for experienced Social Workers to join our Disabled Children’s Team in Andover covering Test Valley Directorate. You will be passionate about providing quality services to children with disabilities and their families, delivered within a strength-based approach model. You’ll thrive in a position working in partnership with families to increase independence, promote family resilience and keep children safe from harm.
You will look after a complex caseload of children with disabilities, in this challenging but hugely rewarding role. Your expertise will span the range of statutory provisions, including Children in Need, children subject to Child Protection Plans, Children in Care and those where Care Proceedings have been initiated. You will work closely with these children and their families to undertake holistic social work assessments to identify risk and need; and work with multi-agency networks to develop and review plans that address and mitigate concerns in a timely manner.
You’ll be comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Knowledge of alternative methods used to communicate with children with disabilities would be an advantage.
You will be part of a stable, friendly team working alongside our Occupational Therapy service. You will be required to liaise with health and education professionals to develop support packages for children with complex needs. The ability to understand and navigate multi-agency systems and processes is essential.
Your practical skills as a Social Worker will be supported by a working knowledge of the legislation that governs work with Children with Disabilities, including the Children’s Act 1989 as amended, the Children’s Act 2002, the Care Act 2014 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
A Social Work qualification is essential and prior experience of working with children with disabilities is desirable.
As a team we offer peer support, reflective supervision, mentoring opportunities and creativity in keeping in touch and supporting each other.
Please note: We are unable to offer overseas candidates this role and therefore it is essential that you already have the right to work in the UK before applying.
What can we offer you:
We will provide you with:
1. A nine-day working fortnight;
2. An allocated personal assistant, who will provide crucial back office support to free up your time to focus on professional practice;
3. Annual leave starting from 25 days per annum and rising to 28 days based on experience and length of service;
4. A hybrid tablet device, so you can work more effectively and flexibly;
5. Five personal development days per annum;
6. Ample progression opportunities;
7. Up to £8,500 relocation support for experienced social workers wanting to move to Hampshire (subject to approval).
