About the role
Our team shape projects that connect communities and impact daily life for millions. Join our UKCS - Balfour Beatty Living Places team as a Surfacing & Surface Treatments Manager and build new futures.
What you'll be doing
1. Management of supply chain partners and operatives on site to deliver programmes of works.
2. Key point of contact for the Client Rep and SCP for developing programmes and performance reporting.
3. Weekly/Monthly planning, programming and integration of works, minimising road space occupancy.
4. Provide close liaison with commercial team to ensure accurate estimates (ECI) are produced.
5. Ensure works are carried out to client specification, and delivered to agreed costs, and provide accurate records for commercial team.
6. Management of Quality, Health & Safety, and environment in all operations.
7. Review method statements and risk assessments to current working practices and legislation to ensure they are sufficient for the works to be undertaken.
Who we're looking for
Skills
* Good communication to manage relationships, in addition to planning and organisation skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency.
* Developed leadership skills.
* Ability to improve safety and sustainability performance.
* Supporting negotiations and conflict resolutions as well as leading others to do the same.
* Support management of data and processes.
* Ability to apply construction management principles.
* Supporting stakeholder management.
* Advanced IT skills for the use of BIM/Confirm or other similar software and construction management tools.
Knowledge
* Understanding of construction techniques, methodologies, and management principles.
* Awareness of Budgeting and cost control.
* Understanding of scheduling and programme management. Short-term planning in line with the overall construction programme & contract annual plan.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements and Standards.
Experience
* Experience in leading and developing individuals.
* Previous Construction Management experience within the relevant industry is required (Road Surfacing & Road Surface Treatments).
* Involvement in developing and executing work package budgets.
* Familiar with work package scheduling and timeline management.
* Familiar with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
