Together, we are superpowered. You will lead the Global IT&D Portfolio Management and Investment Planning function reporting to the Strategy & Transformation CIDO. This team drives transparency, accountability, and an integrated end-end investment planning and portfolio management process with tight alignment to our global regulatory commitments. Working closely with the Global IT&D Delivery Portfolio’s and other key functions including Regulatory and Finance to ensure the successful and efficient delivery of National Grid’s IT&D portfolio and associated investment plan providing insight into progress, key outcomes, financials, risks and mitigations. National Grid is hiring a Global IT&D Investment Planning & Portfolio Management Director for our IT&Digital department. This is a hybrid role based in Warwick. Key Accountabilities Manage and improve the Global IT&D investment planning and portfolio management processes Provide insight and analysis on the Global IT&D portfolio and investment plan to leadership to support effective decision making Coordinate and contribute to the creation and maintenance of short and long term global IT&D investment plans that form the starting point for regulatory submissions Provide regular updates on the major IT&D Programs including their latest status, recent successes, risks, key milestones and financial performance Provide a framework and insights to support effective investment prioritisation Be a subject matter expert on regulatory requirements in the US and UK in relation to investment planning Play a key role in providing global regulatory reporting Lead improvements to the IT investment approval process, working with other IT&D teams and business area’s to simplify processes and templates to improve efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance Be a subject matter expert in the selection, adoption and piloting of portfolio management and investment planning tooling About You Experience managing large & complex portfolios, tracking costs, benefits, outcomes and milestones Experience of portfolio management, process improvement and reporting/analytics responsibilities Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external stakeholders Excellent leadership, relationship, communication and presentation skills Experience working in a regulated industry. Electric and/or gas utility experience preferred High level of commercial awareness. For example being able to challenge the costs or benefits associated with an investment Experience playing a central role in Regulatory Submissions Knowledge of change and delivery methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2 and/or Agile Scrum / SAFe) Experience of leading portfolio reporting, benchmarking and analysis techniques What You'll Get A competitive salary between £80,000 - £95,000 – dependent on capability As well as your base salary, you will receive a company car or allowance, a bonus of up to 20% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
