Senior or Principal Consultant – Transport and Development Planning
Leeds, London, Manchester & Birmingham
About the role
You will work as part of a team providing solutions to both private and public sector clients. This position requires an enthusiastic, hard-working person, who wants to be part of our growing, dynamic team. In this role, you will be required to:
1. Support the transport planning offering across the company both in the UK and internationally.
2. Lead work streams within projects with limited supervision, ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently.
3. Deliver high quality highway and transport advice as part of multi-disciplinary teams across a range of transport related projects including major developments, highway related regeneration projects and sustainable transport initiatives.
4. Deliver excellent joined-up and high-profile major development projects in the UK, which contribute to the company’s reputation for delivering excellence.
5. Manage multi-disciplinary projects, sub-consultants and support staff assigned on a project basis as required.
6. Be proactive, show initiative and take responsibility to deliver key tasks with a range of projects.
7. Prepare and present reports, proposals, briefing notes and transport planning documentation.
8. Manage clients on a day-to-day basis, and associated project budgets exercising effective financial and budgetary control.
9. Win work and contribute to the production and delivery of proposals and marketing materials related to our market area from time to time.
10. Assist in general business development initiatives and on-the-job training of junior staff.
11. Take part in training to develop both your technical and consultancy skills.
Requirements
1. Be comfortable working in creative multi-disciplinary teams with architects, planning consultants, etc. leading on transport related inputs and providing positive contributions.
2. Demonstrate a good track record of winning and delivering transport planning deliverables for planning applications and major events (desirable).
3. Take responsibility for key tasks, workstreams and deliverables, managing multiple deadlines in parallel.
4. Demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proven project management/delivery experience in a transport consultancy environment.
6. Show aptitude for client relationship management and proven business development capabilities.
7. Must be legally authorized to work in the United Kingdom without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
