Essential Duties And Responsibilities The District Sales Manager will play a critical role in driving Gates’ sales growth within the Oil & Gas sector and would be required to travel to and work within the Aberdeen area, where the primary customer base is located. This full-time position focuses on managing key strategic accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. Will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans, fostering long-term customer relationships, and coordinating closely with internal teams across manufacturing and R&E Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets and grow market share. Promote Gates Oil & Gas products across Offshore and Onshore markets. Manage key accounts, building strong, long-term relationships. Identify new business opportunities and maintain a robust prospect pipeline. Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure profitable business. Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored customer solutions. Drive product and service introductions to meet market demands. Represent Gates at trade shows and industry events. Ensure adherence to company policies and contractual obligations. Keys to Success Requires in-depth knowledge and experience Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own area and general knowledge of related areas Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate the company in the market Supervisory Responsibilities You will be responsible for selling Gates' products in a geographical area. Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner to determine market strategies and goals for each product and service. Take responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems. Implement strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets. Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition. Has primary accountability for the performance and revenue results in a geographical area and additional accountability for strategic initiatives; manages established accounts in a specified geographic area. Requirements And Preferred Skills 5-7 years of experience in business development and sales, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector. Bachelor’s degree in economics, business management, or a related field preferred. HNC/HND or equivalent would be accepted with strong relevant experience. Proven expertise in key account management and strategic sales planning. Expertise in prospecting, pipeline management, and value selling. Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills. Knowledge of logistics, Incoterms 2020, API standards, and third-party approvals. Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems. Experience with trade show exhibiting and coordination. Willingness to travel. Why Gates?
