The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team. Job description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Race Engineer to join the Team reporting into our Chief Race Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for engineering one of our Race or Test cars. You will work collaboratively as part of the Race Engineering team which supports all race, test, simulator and rig activities. In this role, you will have opportunity to maximizing car and driver performance at the track through operational excellence. Principal Accountabilities: Collaborate with technical departments to deliver optimum performance at the track. Ensure the car is operated for maximum performance within legality and reliability constraints Assist the driver to extract full car potential in conjunction with the Performance Engineer Identify areas for performance improvement to feed back to technical departments Identify areas for reliability improvement in conjunction with the Design department Assist in the development of Race Engineering group skills and capabilities Running a car in Race or Test sessions to a pre-defined schedule, managing the driver, directing the mechanics and tyre technician. Setup of the car with input from Performance engineers. Working with the Race driver to maximize performance. Legality of the car to the established procedures. Developing a specialty performance area within the Race engineers group. Providing pre & post event simulation, analysis and key performance metrics of car performance in race and test events. Run simulator sessions for car development, race preparation and post-race correlation. Requirements Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Degree or similar qualification Experience in race engineering and performance analysis in F1 or top level motorsport Good knowledge of vehicle dynamics, tyres, power unit and aerodynamic performance Knowledge of data analysis programmes. Operating with a clear head when under pressure. Able to manage a group of engineers / mechanics. Outstanding communicative and collaborative skills to guarantee cross-departmental integration Time flexibility, absolute willingness to travel regularly throughout the year, especially at weekends.
